Make technical debt visible before it gets expensive
Technical debt isn't a flaw – it's a normal side effect of moving fast. The trouble only starts when nobody knows how much of it there is.

Almost every project picks up technical debt along the way: quick fixes under deadline pressure, decisions that were right given what we knew at the time, libraries that have since gone out of date. That's unavoidable. It only becomes dangerous when the debt stays invisible.
Visible means written down
We treat technical debt like any other task: named, located, and with a rough estimate of what it costs if it's left alone. That makes it something you can talk about – within the team and with clients.
Paying it down as part of the job
Rather than one big clean-up project at the end, we set aside a bit of time for refactoring in every cycle – ideally right before a new feature goes into a messy part of the code.
- Small steps instead of a big-bang rewrite.
- Automated tests make sure the behaviour doesn't change.
- The debt stays at a level that doesn't slow the team down.
What you get
Changes stay quick, bugs stay rare, and nobody has to dread the next feature.
